I SHOULD DO THE SKETCHING EVERY DAY THING I BET THAT WOULD BE SO HELPFUL! But I don’t have time, I’m getting ready for university ;_; What do you take notes on in your sketchbook?
Basically I take notes of anything I find interesting and/or worth remembering. Little things that please me to grocery lists, lists of things to do, lyrics, story ideas, drawing ideas, artefacts…etc!! It’s fun to flip back and see what I wrote, and sometimes I don’t even know why I wrote it loool. As for being busy and not having time… I know that feeling. It comes down to whether you want to make time for drawing or not. It’s really a personal choice, so up to you! But from my experience, I’ve always found/made time to scribble :) Good luck!
wait ah oh my god i'm actually so amazed at all your work. your drawings, even if sketches, are so vivid and well-drawn. i am actually so amazed wah ✰_✰ do you have any pointers for an aspiring amateur artist?
Thank you so much for the compliment/// I always thought that my sketches > > > my finished works, so I’m glad you like them! As for pointers, I have a few I keep when I draw:
Sketch every day. Even just a scribble, so you won’t ever get rusty! Carry your sketchbook everywhere with you, draw and write notes in it! I look back at my old sketchbooks and I regret not taking any notes in them;;
Stay inspired. Make a list of things that inspire you, and make sure you have access to it! I keep a separate Tumblog to keep all the things that inspire me, so I can go back and get ideas from it! I also have an additional notebook to take notes (whether drawing, grocery list, school tips etc). If you’re artblocking, draw anyway! You can always experiment on techniques. Not every sketch has to be a masterpiece.
Learn from life. Always reference and learn from credible sources. Honestly, I have a lot of beef about random tutorials of “this is how i draw ___”. This is just me being anal. But there are a lot of amazing resources online for anatomy and perspective and many other things. Use them to your advantage!
Have fun. For those who don’t have to stress with deadlines, seriously, have fun with it. Don’t beat yourself over if you’re not drawing as well as you would like. Getting depressed over it isn’t going to help you get any better, so just let go and move on. And sometimes, you just have to learn that unfinished is finished.
Thanks for asking me this… there’s a few things i’ve been wanting to express for a while, but I didn’t want to get stoned ahah xD Sorry this ended up being tl;dr ahaha Thank you for the follow too! (and all the recent followers <3)
